Had such a great time learning to surf. Ryan was patient and explained in a way that was easy for us to relate to and understand. I was somewhat of a freak that I got up on the 2nd time and pretty much every time after that, including 3 long runs in the afternoon. I'd recommend Manly Surf Guide to anyone that is looking for a great company to be with. I now know why so many love surfing and look forward to my next ride.

We went on a one day surfing trip with manly surf guide.

In the morning he gave us our boards and shortys and then we jumped in the car and got to the beach. After a lot of sunscreen he tought us the basics of surfing. After a few tries to get up on the sand we went to the water. After 2 hours we got back to the car and we drove to a nice place to have lunch.

After lunch we headed back to another beach and went on surfing. He gave us lots of hints and instructions and nearly everyone succeed to get up.

He is a realy nice guy and it is really an instruction to the aussie way of life. He is easy going and well prepard at the same time.

If you want to go on a trip with manly surf guide just grap your boarders, a towel and have fun.

I would really recommend you to learn surfing with manly surf guide because i heard of other companies where the surfers had not so much fun, not so good food and it was even more expensive.

I first went on a surf tour with Ryan (and Tom!) in April 2009. I've repeated the day trip every time I'm been back in Sydney over the last year or two, with my last being October 2010. I loved the tour! It's great value for money and a class day out! You get a couple of hours surfing in the morning, a tour of the northern beaches, a chilled picnic lunch, and another couple of hours surfing in the afternoon. The surf group is always small, so you don't get someone else's board smacking you in the head, like in the big surf schools. Ryan is lovely - really friendly and very funny. If you want to surf in Sydney, definitely do Manly Surf Guide! I'm definitely going back next year.

I have signed up with Manly Surf Guide twice now. Once in 2009, was my first time to Australia and first time surfing- It could not have been better. Ryan was ace in getting me out there and up. He hooked me onto surfing and I continued to do it in California and NJ back in the US. The second time was last September 2010, and again it was great with Ryan teaching me some new tips. I am still kookin' it up- but I will sign up with Manly Surf Guide every time I get the chance to be back in Oz. Highly recommend it!

The best day of my trip so far. Ryan took us to beautiful surf beaches and we all stood up! Lunch by the lake was awesome and we surfed all afternoon. I would definitely recomend this trip. Ryan's a great teacher! Cindy Vancouver.‎

Everything about this day out is fun. The Surf Guides are relaxed and easy going but really know their stuff. They introduce you to the surf lifestyle and their Surf Breaks. The lesson on the sand is followed by helpful pushes onto the waves and lots of encouragemet. This is serious FUN! A welcome rest with a healthy ham and salad roll and drink is followed by more surfing!  Thanks for the fun day.

Ryan puts together a really fun day of surf for his clients, whether it's your first day or you just need a lift and some local knowledge. I've gone out twice with Ryan and one of his regular clients. He grew up on the Northern Beaches of Sydney so he knows where to go given the conditions and crowds. I saw him teaching some new surfers last weekend and he was in the water with no board - completely hands-on. Otherwise he paddles out with you, has some fun and keeps the stoke up. Ryan supplies a nice lunch, energy snacks, water, etc. You just show up and have a great time. You couldn't meet a nicer guy.

We surfed with ryan and his team of young instructors last week and it was awesome! We started the day at base camp where we were fitted out with wetsuits and suncream, the boards were on the roof then we hit the road to find the best waves. In no time at all we were on the beach, in the water and surfing!!! I have never stood up on a surf board before but ryan and his team had me standing and even catching my own waves in about half and hour, i was so stoked!!! we surfed all morning and then had a great picnic lunch, cold meats and salad rolls, drinks and musli bars, it really refuelled me for the next session. after our lunch had settled and we had all had a chat about sydney and the best places to go we hit the water again. The second session was even better, i was surfing like a pro hahaha. anyway thank you to ryan, tommy, jarrah for a great day and for introducing me to an awesome sport and lifestyle. James UK‎

Thank you so much! We keep on promoting this real Australian surf adventure!! This is much more genuine than the big surfing companies and you will have more fun and learn more than anywhere else, we can only recommend that!

I love Sydney's Northern Beaches! I had such a fun surf trip with MSG, what a great way to explore this area. Especially because all surf instructors are locals, and definitely know their beaches better than anybody else. Got 2 two-hour lessons, one in the morning and one in the arvo, and managed to stand on my board pretty quickly actually. I thought it would take me heaps longer, but being in

a small group of only 9 people with 3 surf instructors even a beginner like me becomes a surfer in a day. And I can prove it, thanks to the professional surf photographer that was taking fantastic pics of the surfari. Have a look yourself on their website! Overall, all I can say is that I spent a really beautiful day in beaches like Freshie and Dee Why, having yummy lunch with some local surfers who also tell you a bit about the Northern Beaches, their surf history, local bands, where to go out and shopping in Manly, and so much more. The Manly Surf Guide team is not only very professional, but all of them are also pretty nice chaps. We were all still raving about it hours after they dropped us off at Manly Wharf. I'm definitely going to book in for next weekend again, and would recommend this surf trip to anyone. Actually, I already have.:) Sonia (Spain)
